KCCA FC 1-1 Vipers SC
Mike Mutyaba and Brian Nkuubi were on target as KCCA and Vipers SC shared spoils in a 1-1 draw on Thursday we the StarTimes Stadium.
For starters, Vipers’ Halid Lwaliwa got injured as early as the 12th minute and limped out for Ibrahim Tembo.
In the 29th minute, Brian Nkuubi put the Venoms in the lead after a clinical finishing from Tom Masiko’s well laid free kick.
Left back Yayo Lutimba was later booked for resorting to time wasting with six minutes to the break.
On return from the break, KCCA made double substitutions replacing Sadat Amaku and Jackson Nunda with Patrick Kaddu and Gift Ali.
Three minutes past the second half, goalkeeper Derrick Ochan brilliantly denied Kizza Mustafa from close range.
In the 49th minute, Mike Mutyaba put the game on the level thanks to his clinical finishing from Allan Okello’s through ball.
Vipers’ Innocent Wafula was later booked after a foul before Abraham Ndugwa came on for Masiko.
Okello failed to put KCCA in the lead after shooting wide from zero distance thanks to a chest pass by Kaddu and the Venoms introduced Aziz Kayondo for Moses Waiswa.
Nkuubi missed a clear-cut chance after finding a through ball from Ndugwa but taped wide, – Hassan Musana got booked later.
With ten minutes to time, KCCA withdrew goal scorer Mutyaba for Lawrence Bukenya.
In the 87th minute, Kaddu header from Okello delivery rattled the cross bar and Tembo was cautioned for a foul on Okello.
The hosts would have bossed with a win but missed golden opportunities off Muzamir Mutyaba, Nicholas Kasozi and Kaddu thanks to Vipers’ goalie Derrick Ochan who was outstanding entirely.
KCCA maintained their dominance on top of the table having 53 points with four ahead of 2nd placed Vipers SC.
