Express FC has held the tax collectors URA FC to a goalless draw in Bombo. The game was televised live on the home of sport, Sanyuka TV.
With the Mandela National Stadium still suspended from hosting league games, URA FC had to cope with life in Bombo where they hosted Express FC.
Sam Simbwa made three changes to the team that held KCCA FC to a 1-1 draw in their last outing, resting pacy forward Micheal Birungi, and Cromwell Rwothomio.
Both URA FC and Express had several attempts on goal.
Tax collector Daniel Isiagi had a great run in the box in the 21st minute, but the offside flag was up, while the duo of Frank Kalanda and Frank Senyondo could have scored for Express FC in the 66th and 79th minutes respectively, but URA FC’s defenders dealt well with their efforts to ensure that the spoils are shared.
This becomes URA FC’S 8th draw of the season and the 5th for George Simwogerere’s Red Eagles.
The taxmen are 10th on the league log with with 17 points, one below Express FC who finish the first round 9th with 18 points.
In the other game played, Kyetume FC succumbed to a 5-2 walloping from holders KCCA FC.
