KCCA FC brushed aside Proline FC with a 4-0 victory in the last game of the Startimes Uganda Premier league first round at the Startimes Stadium, in Lugogo.
The first round of the Startimes Uganda premier league ended on Tuesday, 3 December as Proline FC hosted their tenants KCCA FC in Lugogo.
The game had been rescheduled earlier as both teams had CAF engagements.
Goals from Sam Senyonjo, Nicholas Kasozi, and a brace from Allan Okello saw the defending champions put their rock bottom tenants in their place.
Sam Senyonjo tapped in KCCA FC’s first at the stroke of half time, while Nicholas Kasozi headed in KCCA FC’s second off a Kizza Mustafa corner kick in the 69th minute.
Allan Okello scored his first of the day in 78th minute.
With seven minutes left on the clock, fans darling Julius Poloto, who had been sidelined for months with injury made an impactful return as he assisted Okello’s second and KCCA FC’s 4th in the 90th minute.
KCCA FC wrap up the first round second on the pile with 32 points and as many goals, the most by any team so far while Proline FC who have scored only six goals remain rock bottom on the 16 team log with nine points.
Meanwhile, in the FUFA drum, Bukedi and Lango province progressed to the semi-finals after topping group A and B respectively.
Bukeddi beat Buganda 4-2 to go top of their group with six points while Lango edged Busoga 2-0 in group B.
Matchday continues today as Lango takes on West Nile at the Akii Bua Stadium while Busoga face Bugisu in the Easter region derby at Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu.
