As the 2020 Olympics qualifiers in Senegal near, the Uganda Boxing Federation president Moses Muhangi has revealed that the government failed to raise funds to support their preparations for the qualifiers.
The African boxing qualifiers for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo will take place in Senegal in February but as the date nears, the Uganda Boxing Federation is worried.
The federation president, Moses Muhangi, has today revealed that the National council of sports and the Uganda Olympic Committee failed to fund their preparations.
Muhangi and his top executive have now devised means of collecting the funds.
A total of 187 boxers will compete for 13 slots available for Uganda in the continental qualifiers that will take place in Senegal in February next year.
