Chameleone fills Cricket Oval for his Gwanga Mujje Concert.

Jose Chameleone performing at Gwanga Mujje Concert

Musician Jose Chameleone, legally known as Joseph Mayanja, put up a memorable performance during his highly billed “Gwanga Mujje” concert that registered a big turn-up.

The concert which was held at Lugogo Cricket Oval, saw outgoers fill the venue to capacity as those who had not paid the entrance fees climbed the fence to watch Chameleone do what he does best.

Revellers graced the venue as early as midday and were treated to different music mixes by DJ Nimrod till around 9:20 pm as the show had no curtain raisers.

From that moment, Jose Chameleone kicked off his set with a couple of hit songs on live band that he executed pretty well and the sound had no glitches which indicated that he had enough time to rehearse his songs with the band. The backline band that did practice with Jose Chameleone did a great job on practising each of his songs to perfection.

He then took his fans down memory lane of his musical journey dating way back from the early 2000s to his current hit “Forever” in a marvellous style.

Chameleone’s “Gwanga Mujje” was near to perfect with Fenon events putting up a well-lit stage, good sound, and as expected Jose Chameleone put on an exhibition to remember as he iced the artistic set-up with good music and performance.

Midway through his performance, the Leone Island boss thanked his fans for turning up in large numbers. He went on to claim that he is a testimony of God’s blessing and existence.

He added that he should have now been dead but he is still alive because he still has a job to do and for that matter told his critics not to intimidate him.

“I am a testimony. I should b dead but I am alive, so don’t intimidate me. I am Joseph and you should let me live.”

King Micheal, Weasel, Pallaso, Bebe Cool, Mudra, Zex Bilangilangi, Navio, Ziza Bafana, Ketchup, and Mesach Ssemakula as well performed.

Chameleone’s parents Mr Gerald Mayanja and Prossy Mayanja graced the show with much joy and amusement.

The singer expressed his joy upon seeing his dad at his concert saying it had been 10 years ever since he had last attended any of their concerts.

Bebe Cool also thanked revellers for showing them love, especially the big three (Bobi, Bebe, & Chameleone) despite always being involved in fights.

He also promised to always be there for Jose Chameleone whenever he needs his help and support in any situation of his life.

Mesach Semakula also recognized Chameleone as among Uganda’s greatest artistes saying his name needs to be respected for the significant contribution he has put to the arts industry.

The Gwanga Mujje legend concert was broadcasted live on Sanyuka Tv right away from Jose Chameleone’s preparations for the event to the very end moment of the show. The live broadcast of the event started at 9 PM till midnight when the rest of the event was streamed on Afro mobile.

THE SINGING DIVAS; SPICE DIANA AND SHEEBA KARUNGI COLLABO AGENDA

It is always encouraging to see artists choose to work together and support each other rather than falling into the trap of competition and rivalry. Collaboration can lead to the creation of new and exciting music, and can also help to foster a sense of community and unity within the industry. It is important for artists to resist the pressure to compete with each other and instead focus on creating and sharing their art.

By choosing to collaborate and support each other, Spice Diana and Sheebah Karungi are setting a positive example for other artists in the industry.

Sheebah was the first to make a move by surprising Spice Diana on stage while she was performing at her EP album launch at Cubana Lounge in Munyonyo on May 26th
Sheebah mentioned that many selfish minded people want to bring them down by staging an illusional competition.
She further mentioned that she is going to be more collaborative and supportive to Spice Diana and promised to do a duet with her.
Spice on the other hand has only admiration for Sheebah whom she says is her mentor.

It should be noted that another illusional war was set up to compare Sheebah with the youngest talent on block, Pinky to which responded in an interview saying, “Pinky is young in the industry and instead of fighting with her, I will be available for her when she needs to talk to someone because time will come, and she will definitely need someone to talk to.”
Unlike the times of Bobi–Bebe Battle, the female artistes have chosen to collaborate with each other in the industry which has left fans and money minded promoters to think of creative ways to make money other than staging illusional battles between artistes.

Eddy Kenzo scoops Grammy nomination

Eddy Kenzo, real names Ediriisa Musuuza is nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category for his ‘Gimme Love’ single with American R&B artiste Matt B. The tune was produced by beat maker A-Steyn.

Uganda’s superstar, Eddy Kenzo will be squaring off with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy with his Last hit, and Rocky Dawuni and Blvk H3ro (Ghana) with Neva Bow Down.

Eddy Kenzo is once again proving he’s a musical juggernaut on the international stage after bagging a nomination in the 2022 Grammy Awards.

The Grammy nominees for this year were announced Tuesday night by the Recording Academy.

Other songs in the category are Udhero Na by Arooj Aftab & Anoushka Shankar (Pakistan) and Bayethe by Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini & Nomcebo Zikode (South Africa).

“Isn’t God so good banange, Uganda is in the Grammys,” Kenzo tweeted on Tuesday night after scooping the nomination

Kenzo received international recognition after the release of his 2014 single, “Sitya Loss” whose video earned him a BET Award. The award is also Uganda’s and East Africa’s only BET Award to date.

Big Eye reveals why he disrupted Eddy Kenzo’s concert.

During the Eddy Kenzo Festival at Kololo Airstrip on Saturday, while performing, Ibrahim Mayanja, well known as Big Eye Starboss was seen involved in a scuffle with a deejay on stage.

While performing at the Eddy Kenzo Festival, Big Eye, requested the DJ to play his latest song one more time as he makes his way off the stage, but instead, the DJ played King Michael’s song.

This annoyed Big Eye and attacked the Deejay and they had to be separated by bouncers at the concert

Many people who attended the show say that Starboss wanted to use it to steal Eddy Kenzo’s shine and make news.

“Ndi Single” hitmaker revealed that he was infuriated by the fact that he has invested a lot of time and money in the new song and he couldn’t understand why the deejay would refuse to play it.

“I came to sing and have fun still. How could he have refused to play my latest song, my favourite song. You don’t know how much I have invested to put that song in place,” he said.
