Nkumba University vs University of Kisubi – Entebbe
Having defeated the University of Kisubi 1-0 in the corresponding fixture, Nkumba University will be looking forward to completing a double over the former in the Pepsi University Football League.
Nkumba will host the return leg between the two institutions in Group B in Entebbe on Monday, May 23.
Nkumba, who have won two of their three games in the group will need a win to improve their chances of progress to the next round.
And while speaking during his pre-match interview, Nkumba head coach Sulaiman Bbosa warned his players against underestimating their opponents.
“We won the first leg and we are also focused on winning the second leg but a lot must change considering what happened in the game away from home,” he said.
“We underestimated them that is why we just edged them so we should avoid that to have a comfortable win.”
“Their strength is aerial balls and they gave us a lot of problems there but I believe we can now match them up,” he added.
“It is an important game to use because if we win it will brighten our chances of qualifying from the group,” Sulaiman noted.
Ahead of Monday’s encounter, three points separate the two sides on the table. Nkumba is placed second with six points while Kisubi is positioned third with three points after losing games to the top two.
Makerere University Business School tops the standings with nine while Muni University is rock bottom without a point.
