Wakiso Giants unveil UGX 235 million 1x Bet sponsorship together with home kit

Wakiso Giants FC has unveiled their new home kit for the 2022/21 season and confirmed a mega shirt sponsorship deal with online gaming company 1x Bet.

The deal is worth USD 65000 (approx. UGX 235 million) and shall run for one season, with an option to extend it for a further year at the end of the initial period.

1x Bet becomes the principal shirt sponsor for Wakiso from next season replacing electronics company Ward Wizard, who have been the main shirt sponsor since December 2020.

Wakiso Giants chief executive officer Sula Kamoga said: “As a club, we are delighted to unveil a new member of the Wakiso Giants family, a new Sponsor, 1XBet which is an international brand.”

“They are partners of many international clubs and probably the reason they had to work with another global brand in the names of Wakiso Giants Football Club in a partnership that will last for one year for the start.”

“They become our latest sponsor, following a series of sponsorships and partnerships an indicator that we are growing stronger and that we are a trusted brand committed to our goal.”

“We welcome 1XBET to the bigger Purple Sharks family,” he continued.

1x Bet becomes the third principal shirt sponsor in Wakiso’s history following deals with Papo Restaurant and Ward Wizard under their brand Vyom electronics.

Anthony Dhabangi, 1xBet Operational Manager said: “We have been working with African football leagues and clubs for a long time.”

“Wakiso Giants is a signing that we are very pleased with. Since its inception in 2009, this team has come a long way and is now well-known to fans in the country and beyond,” he added.

“Such dynamics attract us because we ourselves were founded in 2007, and we know how difficult it is to break through to the top in a competitive environment.”

“We hope that we will be able to help the Giants reach new heights. We are confident that Wakiso Giants have a great future in Ugandan football, and fans of the team will soon enjoy plenty of thrilling emotions,”

Meanwhile, the club’s new home kit for the 2022/23 season creates a modern and classic look and contains features from the club’s jersey from the 2020/21 season.

The kit has purple and white patches at the front with the white patch fashioned with purple stripes. the shirt is complete with purple arms and a golden strip at the base of the arm.

The away kid is predominantly white and borrows a lot from the 2019/20 kit as it also has a golden stripe around the neck and the arms.

The club has confirmed that the new home kit will be used for their final home game of the season against champions Vipers SC at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium on Saturday.

The away kit on the other hand will be used for the first time for their final game of the season away to KCCA FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium next week.
